This was an old Brit advert for Hamlet cigars. The usual theme was a bloke getting his act all wrong in one way or another. When the embarrassment of his predicament was laid bare; the sad individual would retreat to the solace of a Hamlet cigar. In this one we see good old King Canute trying to command the tide to stop.
