Splendid, first class, excellent - Love it to bits.

I came home from work yesterday evening and as I walked through the door, I could smell the lovely roast dinner being prepared. The aroma was gorgeous and my belly began to rumble.

"What's cooking?" I asked.

"Lamb shanks," replied my wife, who is a vegetarian.

"Oh wow! One of my favs," I replied. It's a standard joke. Whatever she cooks, I always reply, "Oh wow! That's one of my favs."

Carole always replies, "Food, in general, is one of your favs."

As the plate was put on the table, I decided to take a quick snap so all you lovely peeps could see the prize awaiting my devoted attention. I, of course, managed to rise to the occasion. My performance in doing justice to this dinner was; splendid, first class, excellent.

In short, I Love it to bits.

I'M SO PLEASED MY DIET IS GOING WONDERFULLY WELL!

I have stuck to my decision to cut out all snacks like crisps, chocolate and Ice Cream. That did not mean anything too drastic. I just stopped eating crisps in front of the TV at night. I don't eat at all when retiring to watch TV. I have tea and coffee, but that's it.

I was 15 stone 6 pounds and now I'm 13 stone 12 pounds. It is a slow weight loss and has been more about changing my eating habits. I've concentrated on the regular diet intake plan as recommended by a dietician. Fortunately, they are free with UK NHS. I see her every 6 weeks and she weighs me and asks about food consumption etc. I need to get to 11 stone 7 pounds for my height.

To be fair, I would settle for around 12 stone. I have started to feel better as I move about in work. I have also taken smaller lunch boxes with one bap cut into two plus an orange and a plum or something similar. This I eat at around 12 to 12.30. When I go home after work, I have a small dinner followed by fruit salad and a splash of yoghurt.

I've been trying a variety of different things too. I have to say that I'm enjoying meals better and it feels as though my taste buds are improving. When I do my shoe laces up, I've noticed it's not the laborious task I had become used to.

As I fall into the pattern, I've noticed that the weight loss seems to occur at night. I think it is when sleeping. Obviously when one gets up and goes to the bathroom to do what all blokes do. Well... that's when I get on the scales. Usually, I'm delighted to see a pound gone here and there. Steadily I'm losing weight.

Sometimes there is the odd day when you indulge. For instance, last week I went to see my Dad and stayed overnight. We went to his club in the evening and I drank five pints of stout Guinness. This is way above alcohol consumption level. But then, I rarely drink for the rest of the month.

In no time, I'm back in the programme and all seems still on course for further weight loss.

Do You Know I've Never Burnt A Salad?

The one thing I can do, without burning it, is a delicious mouth-watering salad. I decided to do one today with chopped red onion, celery, tomatoes, peppers, oak leaf lettuce, feta cheese with honey and mustard topping.
Just before I tucked in, I once again decided to snap it on the mobile and email it to my computer. Just so I could download it and show it to all you wonderful people out there.
Sadly, it's gone now.
Long live the feta cheese salad,
Long live the feta cheese salad.
It's gone to the big salad bowl in the sky.
I've been watching my diet of late because we had the health check people come around. I'm 5' 8" and weighed 15 stone 6 pounds. I should be 11 stone 7 pounds for my height. That is what I've been told. I've managed to loose 1 stone and 6 pounds. So now I'm on 14 stone. Still, 2 stone plus to go.

Have You Ever Tried Soft Chili Cheese on Baked Mushrooms?

At the risk of sounding a bit like Sam I Am, I would like to ask if anyone has tried soft chilli cheese baked on large mushrooms?

I was feeling a little peckish this afternoon and decided upon raiding the fridge for something to fill a little gap that was developing in my stomach. I had bought four large mushrooms and picked up some soft Bavarian cheese earlier in the day while out and about in the village.

I took two of the large mushrooms and baked them in the oven with sliced Bavarian chilli soft cheese on the top. Once baked I looked down at the succulent little beauties and my mouth began to water. I sprinkled some white pepper over them and was about to dig in when I thought, "stop!"

I decided to take a snapshot and let everyone else see how yummy they looked. I have to say they were as delicious as they appear. In fact, they were gorgeous. Therefore, when next in the supermarket go for a pack of large mushrooms, a soft cheese with some chilli or chives or some other add-in.

Not a bad little delight.
