China's Easy Riders
1,000 Harley Davidson enthusiasts gathered in Qian Dao Lake, Zhejiang, China to celebrate the 5th Harley Davidson National Rally, as part of the company’s 110-year anniversary. Harley Davidson motorbikes are considered by Chinese tax authorities to be luxury items, so they are taxed at extremely high rates – sometimes the tax alone is equivalent to the bike’s US price tag. Traffic and transportation authorities have also placed Harley's in the same category as electric bikes, horses and bicycles – they cannot be on highways and major avenues. So, in China, the chance for like-minded Harley enthusiasts to meet and celebrate their love of biking is never missed.
