Twiggy was the ultimate model of nineteen sixties Britain. Everyone loved her and this clip amuses me when they say she is on a staggering three hundred guineas a week. During the retro sixties in Britain, there were a number of iconic figures that everyone loved. Twiggy was the down to earth model with the cockney accent - a local girl made good. From all over the UK, these people were springing up. We had Shirley Bassey from Cardiff, the Beatles from Liverpool, George Best from Belfast and Lulu from Glasgow. Of course, there were more and these are to name but a few.
